Pune Homebuyers Await Relief as 176 MahaRERA Recovery Cases Worth ₹106.7 Crore Remain Pending

Pune: Homebuyers in Pune district continue to wait for refunds and compensation as 176 MahaRERA recovery cases involving more than ₹106.7 crore remain pending, according to recent reports.

The pending cases involve recovery proceedings against developers following orders issued by the Maharashtra Real Estate Regulatory Authority (MahaRERA). Delays in identifying properties, difficulties in tracing assets and unsuccessful property auctions have reportedly slowed the recovery process.

For affected homebuyers, the prolonged process means that money awarded through regulatory orders remains difficult to recover. The situation has also raised concerns about the effectiveness and speed of enforcement mechanisms after a recovery order is issued.

The Pune administration and revenue authorities have previously been directed to accelerate the execution of MahaRERA recovery warrants and ensure that eligible homebuyers receive their dues. The latest pending cases highlight the need for faster coordination between regulatory and revenue authorities.
