Gurugram: Residents of The Westerlies, a
residential township in Gurugram, have reportedly demonstrated against
developer Experion Developers, raising concerns over security, maintenance and
other civic issues within the project.
Residents
said the protest was aimed at highlighting problems affecting the day-to-day
living experience in the township. Security arrangements and maintenance
services were among the key concerns raised by the residents.
According to
residents, inadequate security measures have created anxiety among families
living in the development. They have also sought improvements in maintenance
services and better upkeep of common areas and other facilities within the
township.
The
demonstration reflects the growing concerns among residents of large
residential communities over the quality of services provided during and after
project handover. Security, housekeeping, infrastructure maintenance and timely
resolution of complaints are increasingly becoming important issues for
homebuyers and resident welfare associations.
Residents
have reportedly urged the developer to address their concerns and establish a
more effective mechanism for resolving maintenance and security-related
complaints. They are also seeking greater accountability and regular
communication from the developer on issues affecting the community.
For
developers, such disputes underline the importance of maintaining high
standards of post-possession services and ensuring that promised facilities and
security arrangements remain operational.
The
developments at The Westerlies also highlight a broader issue facing India's
rapidly expanding residential sector: as large townships become increasingly
common, effective coordination between developers, facility-management agencies
and resident associations is essential to ensure the long-term upkeep of these
communities.
Residents
are expected to continue pursuing the matter with the developer and relevant
authorities until their concerns are addressed.
