NOIDA : The Noida
Authority has unveiled an ambitious plan to develop New Noida across
approximately 20,000 hectares, with the project expected to generate between 5
lakh and 6 lakh jobs by 2030. The proposed expansion aims to accommodate
growing industrial demand, attract fresh investments and strengthen the
region’s position as a major economic and industrial hub in Uttar Pradesh.
The development is expected to create new
opportunities for industries, businesses and investors while supporting the
region’s long-term urban and economic growth.
The New Noida project is expected to begin with land
acquisition in phases. A phased approach will allow the authorities to acquire
land progressively and undertake development in accordance with the project’s
requirements.
The expansion is intended to provide additional space
for industrial and commercial activities as existing urban and industrial areas
face increasing demand. Planned infrastructure and organised development are
expected to play a significant role in supporting the proposed growth.
The project also reflects the broader strategy of
expanding economic activity beyond established industrial areas while improving
the region’s capacity to accommodate future businesses.
One of the major objectives of New Noida is to meet
the rising demand for industrial land and infrastructure. The project is
expected to attract companies looking to establish manufacturing facilities,
industrial units and other business operations in the region.
The projected creation of 5 lakh to 6 lakh jobs by
2030 could provide a significant boost to employment opportunities. The
development may also support indirect employment across construction,
logistics, transportation, retail and other service sectors.
However, the actual employment generated will depend
on the pace of land acquisition, infrastructure development, investment inflows
and the establishment of industrial units.
Alongside the proposed expansion, the plan envisages
greater vertical development in established areas. This approach could help
accommodate increasing urban demand through more intensive use of available
land.
Vertical development can support the efficient use of
urban space, particularly in locations where land availability is limited and
demand for housing, offices and commercial facilities continues to rise.
The combination of new development areas and more
intensive development in existing locations could help the region manage future
growth more effectively.
The proposed expansion could have important
implications for the real estate market in Noida and the wider National Capital
Region (NCR).
While the proposed 20,000-hectare expansion and
employment projections underline the scale of the New Noida vision, the
project's success will depend on effective execution.
Land acquisition, compensation, infrastructure
funding, environmental considerations and the timely development of industrial
facilities will be among the key factors influencing progress.
The pace at which businesses establish operations will
also determine whether the projected employment target can be achieved by 2030.
