Mumbai : Film and television producer Ekta Kapoor has praised her father, veteran Bollywood actor Jeetendra, for recognising the potential of data centres as an investment opportunity before they became a major focus of market attention. She credited his forward-looking investment approach and highlighted his ability to identify emerging opportunities ahead of others.

Jeetendra, one of the well-known faces of Indian cinema, has enjoyed a long career in the entertainment industry. However, according to Ekta Kapoor’s remarks, his investment interests extend beyond films and television, reflecting an approach that looks at opportunities in sectors with long-term growth potential.

Her comments have drawn attention to the growing importance of data centres, which have become essential infrastructure for the digital economy.

According to Ekta Kapoor, her father’s approach to wealth creation is based on financial discipline, saving money, investing in land, and gradually expanding into other businesses.

She explained that Jeetendra came from a middle-class background and understood the importance of managing money carefully. Rather than spending all his earnings, he focused on saving and reinvesting to build long-term wealth.

Her comments highlight an important lesson for investors: earning money is only one part of wealth creation. Saving regularly, investing wisely, and choosing assets with long-term potential are equally important.

Ekta also praised her father and brother, actor Tusshar Kapoor, for their approach to the real estate business, including their focus on financial discipline, cost management, and affordable housing.

In May 2025, companies associated with Jeetendra and his family reportedly sold a 2.39-acre land parcel in Andheri, Mumbai, to NTT Global Data Centres for ₹855 crore. In January 2026, Jeetendra and Tusshar Kapoor reportedly sold a commercial property in Chandivali to an NTT Group subsidiary for ₹559 crore.

These transactions underline the growing importance of land and commercial properties suitable for specialised infrastructure development.

However, such deals also demonstrate that the value of a property depends on several factors, including its location, permitted use, infrastructure access, and suitability for a particular business.

Ekta Kapoor described real estate as a dependable asset that can provide both practical use and potential financial appreciation.

Unlike certain investments that generate returns mainly through price changes or income, a residential property can also provide a place to live. Commercial properties and land may offer other opportunities, depending on their location, development potential, and market demand.

Her views reflect a long-standing investment approach followed by many Indian families: build savings, acquire property, and hold assets with a long-term perspective.

Ekta Kapoor’s praise for her father, Jeetendra, offers a glimpse into a family investment philosophy built around saving, land ownership, diversification, and identifying emerging business opportunities.
