NEW DELHI : IIFL
Home Finance Limited (IIFL HFL) has facilitated Credit Linked Subsidy Scheme
(CLSS) benefits under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) for more than
29,000 families, supporting homeownership among eligible households in the
affordable housing segment.
The
initiative forms part of IIFL HFL’s broader focus on expanding access to
housing finance for first-time and underserved homebuyers. Through the CLSS
mechanism, eligible borrowers could receive an interest subsidy on qualifying
home loans, reducing the effective cost of borrowing and making homeownership
more accessible.
IIFL HFL has
historically played a significant role in facilitating PMAY-linked subsidies.
The company reported that it had facilitated CLSS subsidies for more than
50,000 households by February 2022, with subsidies exceeding ₹1,200 crore.
The
company’s annual reports also highlight its focus on affordable housing,
including lending to economically weaker sections (EWS) and low-income groups
(LIG). IIFL HFL has continued to participate in government-backed affordable
housing initiatives, including PMAY 2.0.
The
milestone underscores the role of housing finance companies in connecting
eligible homebuyers with government housing-support programmes and expanding
access to formal housing finance across India.
