Mumbai : Half of prospective homebuyers are planning to purchase a property within the next two years, while 2 and 3 BHK homes continue to dominate buyer preferences, according to a recent survey by Colliers.

The findings highlight continued demand for mid-sized homes, as buyers increasingly look for properties that offer a balance between affordability, space and lifestyle requirements. The popularity of 2 and 3 BHK configurations also reflects the needs of families seeking practical living spaces in established and emerging residential locations.

The survey indicates that 50% of prospective buyers expect to make a property purchase within two years, pointing to a sizeable pool of potential demand for the residential real estate sector.

For developers, the preference for 2 and 3 BHK units provides an important indication of the type of housing that prospective buyers are currently considering. Factors such as household size, budget, amenities, connectivity and access to employment and social infrastructure are likely to influence final purchase decisions.

The survey also underlines the importance of understanding changing homebuyer expectations as the residential market continues to evolve.
