Kolkata: Kolkata-based
real estate developer Sugam is planning an ambitious expansion in FY27, with
the launch of three residential projects covering a combined area of
approximately 5.5 million sq ft. The projects will involve an estimated
construction cost of more than ₹2,800 crore, reflecting the company's growing
focus on expanding its residential portfolio.
The developer is targeting sales worth ₹750–800 crore
during FY27, nearly double the approximately ₹375 crore recorded in FY26. The
projected growth highlights Sugam's confidence in the residential property
market and its plans to strengthen its presence through new project launches.
Three Major Residential Projects Planned
The proposed developments, together spanning around
5.5 million sq ft, are expected to form a significant part of Sugam's expansion
strategy for the financial year 2026–27.
With a combined construction investment exceeding
₹2,800 crore, the projects are expected to add substantial residential
inventory to the company's portfolio. The planned launches also indicate the
developer's intention to capitalise on housing demand and emerging
opportunities in the property market.
Sales Target Nearly Doubled for FY27
Sugam has set an ambitious sales target of ₹750–800
crore for FY27, compared with approximately ₹375 crore in FY26.
Achieving this target would represent a substantial
increase in the company's annual sales performance. The planned launches of
three large residential projects are expected to play a key role in supporting
this growth.
The strategy reflects the developer's expectation of
stronger homebuyer demand and improved sales momentum during the current
financial year.
Evaluating ₹100 Crore Institutional
Fundraising
Alongside its project expansion plans, Sugam is also
evaluating an institutional capital raise of approximately ₹100 crore.
The proposed fundraising could provide additional
financial resources to support the company's development plans, strengthen its
capital position and help manage the funding requirements associated with its
upcoming projects.
Institutional capital has increasingly become an
important source of funding for real estate developers looking to expand their
project portfolios and undertake large-scale developments.
Kolkata Real Estate Market Attracts
Expansion
Sugam's expansion plans come at a time when developers
are focusing on increasing residential supply and tapping into housing demand
across key urban markets.
The planned investment of more than ₹2,800 crore and
the proposed addition of 5.5 million sq ft underline the scale of the company's
ambitions for FY27.
If executed as planned, the three projects could
significantly strengthen Sugam's residential development portfolio, while the
targeted sales growth would mark an important milestone in the company's
business expansion.
