MUMBAI : Real estate stocks are facing temporary
macroeconomic pressure as rising global bond yields and higher crude oil prices
weigh on investor sentiment. The Nifty Realty Index recently declined more than
4%, touching a two-month low, highlighting the vulnerability of rate-sensitive
sectors to changes in global financial conditions.
Higher bond yields can influence borrowing costs and
reduce the attractiveness of equities, particularly sectors such as real estate
that depend heavily on financing and consumer demand. At the same time, rising
crude oil prices can add to inflationary pressures and increase concerns over
interest rates and overall economic growth.
The recent decline has therefore raised caution among
investors, even as the underlying Indian real estate market continues to
attract interest from buyers and developers. Market participants are closely
watching interest-rate expectations, global bond markets and crude oil
movements for signs of whether the pressure on realty stocks will persist.
